Blue Devils storm back late; KMAC rivals split results across county
Danville rallies past Loudonville, East Knox stumbles at Mount Gilead, Centerburg keeps offense rolling, and Fredericktown powers to ground-game win.

Trailing in the fourth quarter, the Danville football team
was able to mount a comeback and beat the Loudonville Redbirds, 34-28, on
Friday at Danville.
The Redbirds led 28-20 after three quarters, but the Blue
Devils (3-3 overall, 1-2 KMAC) were able to punch it in twice to escape with
the win.
Cyren Wallace led the Devils with 136 yards rushing and two
touchdowns. Quarterback Parker Proper added 77 yards on the ground and was 11
of 21 passing for another 163 yards. He also accounted for two touchdowns – one
passing and one running.
Aidan Mickley caught three passes for Danville for 55 yards.
Wesley Payne added three catches for 38 yards and a score.
The Devils’ defense was able to hold Loudonville to just 113
yards of offense on the night, including 87 on the ground. Jacob Byers led the
team with 18 tackles. Chris Mosher added 10, while Owen Gronberg and Mickley
each had seven.
East Knox falls to league-leading Indians
The East Knox Bulldogs scored the first touchdown of the
game Friday. But from there it was all Mount Gilead as the Indians cruised to a
39-7 victory.
The Bulldogs (1-5, 1-2) scored first when Jax Lester hit
Dakota Cooper for a touchdown pass in the first quarter.
The Indians (6-0, 3-0) responded with 16 points in the
second quarter, then put the game away with 23 in the fourth. They rushed for
205 yards and four touchdowns on the night.
Lester finished the game hitting on 9 of 24 passes for 101
yards and the score. Cooper caught three passes for 25 yards and a TD, while
Rush Beatty (46 yards) and Landon Boyd (12 yards) each caught two passes. Boyd
added 16 yards rushing on just four carries.
Defensively, East Knox was led by Logan Hercenberg, who had
six solo tackles. Lester and Caden Ridenour each had four, while Wyatt McDowell
and Boyd had two each.
Centerburg blows past Pirates
The Centerburg offensive explosion continued.
The Trojans rushed for 308 yards and cruised to a 47-7
victory over Cardington-Lincoln in Knox Morrow Athletic Conference action at
Cardington.
Miles Marshall led the explosion, rushing for 195 yards and
four touchdowns in the victory. The junior got the night started well for the
Trojans, breaking off a 49-yard TD run in the opening drive. He added scores of
12, 4 and 71 yards.
Quarterback Blane Ball added a 42-yard rushing touchdown.
Ball rushed for 110 yards and completed 9 of 13 passes for another 155 yards.
Jackson Ballinger caught three of those passes for 81 yards and a score, while
Eli Indiciani had three catches for 53 yards. The Trojans’ final score came on
a 75-yard kickoff return by Hayden Love.
Fredericktown runs to win over Northmor
Fredericktown rushed for 335 yards in cruising to a 25-13
victory over Northmor.
The Freddies jumped out to a 12-0 lead at halftime and went
score-for-score with the Knights in the second half to pick up the win.
Blake Sipes led the Freddies on the ground with 107 yards
rushing on 19 carries. He also completed 2 of 2 passes for 26 yards and a
touchdown. Griffin Gerver caught one pass for 20 yards.
The Freddie defense held Northmor to just 19 yards rushing
on 13 carries. Northmor quarterback Tanner Miley did complete 16 of 22 passes
for 195 yards.
