This October, Kudos Art Co-op invites the community to step into a world of whimsy and wonder with local artist Sarah Gabric, the featured Artist of the Month.
A “Meet the Artist” reception will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Kudos, located at 10 S. Main St. in downtown Mount Vernon. The event is free and open to the public, featuring art, wine, snacks and conversation with the artist herself.
Gabric’s work is a vibrant fusion of mood, movement and layered storytelling. A painter, watercolorist, collage artist and poet, she is known for her ultra-realistic small-scale bird portraits and colorful larger works that blur the lines between realism and imagination. Many of her pieces are inspired by the intricate beauty of nature — particularly insects — and are informed by her lifelong love of storytelling.
For over 20 years, Gabric has worked as a psychotherapist, balancing her career with her roles as mother, grandmother, and artist. She draws inspiration from the rhythms of the natural world and often collaborates with young people, finding magic in the fresh perspectives of children.
Her pieces invite viewers to rediscover the wonder of simply seeing — to explore color, mystery and joy through art.
In addition to Gabric’s work, guests can explore creations from 23 other local artists who make up the Kudos co-op. For more information, visit the Facebook page at Kudos Art Co-op.
