Winter Break Fun at Holmes County Central Library will run Dec. 29-31 and Jan. 2-3, inviting visitors to visit the children’s department for a week filled with art activities such as drawing, coloring, chalk art and beaded snowflakes, along with board games and time to create with kinetic sand.
Winter Reading Program for kids, teens and adults will run Jan. 5 through Feb. 28, encouraging participants to track reading throughout the winter for a chance to win prizes, with registration beginning Monday, Dec. 29 at Holmes County Central Library or East Branch Library.
Storytime at the Killbuck Library will meet Tuesdays, Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 10:30 a.m., welcoming kids age 2-5 and their parents or caregivers for stories, songs, rhymes and more.
Storytime at the East Branch Library will meet Wednesdays, Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 10:30 a.m., also inviting kids age 2-5 and their parents or caregivers for stories, songs, rhymes and more.
Growing Readers Storytime at Holmes County Central Library will meet Fridays, Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 10:30 a.m. Kids age 2-5 and their parents or caregivers are invited to join for stories, songs, rhymes and more.
Little Learners Playgroup at Holmes County Central Library will meet Fridays, Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 11 a.m., where kids up to age 5 and their parents or caregivers can stop by for an hour of hands-on activities that will promote reading and social skills. Snacks will be provided.
Paws to Read at Holmes County Central Library will take place Saturday, Jan. 10 from 11 a.m. to noon, inviting families to stop by the children’s department and read to one of the furry friends from Caring Therapy Canines.
Family Fort-Building Night at Holmes County Central Library will be Friday, Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m., welcoming kids up to age 12 and their families for a program to build a reading fort and read stories. Pizza and snacks will be provided, and registration is required.
Book Clubs for Adults will meet Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. at Holmes County Central Library for a discussion of "All the Colors of the Dark" by Chris Whitaker and at 6 p.m. for a discussion of "The Frozen River" by Ariel Lawhon.
