West Holmes Education Association offers scholarships for future educators
Two $1,000 awards available for West Holmes graduates
The West Holmes Education Association (WHEA) is offering two $1,000 scholarships for 2026 to West Holmes graduates majoring in education.
Applicants must have junior or senior status at a college or university. Previous recipients may renew the scholarship once by reapplying.
The scholarship is awarded by a committee appointed by the WHEA Executive Committee. Financial need is not a prerequisite, with selections based on letters of recommendation, grade point average and an interview.
Applications are due by May 29. Interviews will be conducted in late June and early July, with applicants notified of their scheduled time, date and location.
First-time applicants must submit an application form and provide at least one letter of reference from a cooperating teacher, principal or education professor, along with proof of a minimum 3.0 grade point average and education major at the time of the interview.
Applicants seeking renewal must also submit an application form and provide proof of a 3.0 grade point average. Renewal is not automatic and must be requested.
All application materials and correspondence should be sent to West Holmes High School, c/o Nick Gerber, 10909 State Route 39, Millersburg, Ohio 44654, or by email to ngerber@westholmes.org.
Application forms are available through WHEA, and applicants will receive confirmation upon submission.
