Tyler Cook named principal at Flat Ridge, Wise
Cook to lead Flat Ridge and Wise elementary schools starting Aug. 1, succeeding retiring Principal Casey Travis
Tyler Cook has been selected as the next principal at Flat Ridge and Wise elementary schools for East Holmes Local Schools.
Following an extensive search and interview process, district officials determined Cook as the right person to lead the buildings and serve students, staff and families.
Cook is currently a third grade teacher at Flat Ridge. He began his teaching career at Mansfield City Schools as a building substitute in a prekindergarten through third grade building. He also taught preschool for one year at Whitehall City Schools prior to coming to East Holmes, where he has spent the past 11 years at Flat Ridge. During that time he has served families as a Title I teacher and, for the past seven years, as a third grade teacher.
Cook will officially begin his new duties Aug. 1. In the months ahead, he also will have opportunities to work in preparation for the transition into the next school year alongside Casey Travis, current principal at Flat Ridge and Wise, who is retiring at the end of this school year.
