TOPS Nashville recognizes weight-loss achievers
Members celebrated at Nashville Global Methodist Church meeting March 25
TOPS1573 Nashville opened its March 25 meeting with pledges.
Bonnie Porter was recognized as the best weekly loser and encouraged members to eat at least four fruits and vegetables each day. Gaye Keller was named best monthly loser. Leo Tope was recognized as both the best weekly and monthly KOPS.
Mabel Leid presented a program from the internet titled “Ways to Dress Up Plain Water.” She highlighted several flavor combinations including jalapeno and watermelon. Watermelon is rich in vitamins A and C while jalapenos contain capsaicin, which can cause the body to release endorphins. Other suggestions included lime, oranges and strawberries for added vitamin C, as well as blackberries and sage for fiber and vitamin A.
TOPS meets at Nashville Global Methodist Church at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, with weigh-in at 5 p.m.
