TOPS1573 Nashville met March 18, opening with pledges.

Janice Tope was recognized as the best weekly loser and shared her strategy of not eating after supper.

Leo Tope was named the best weekly KOPS.

Lana Rush presented a program from The Bargain Hunter titled “Walnuts offer heart health, better sleep and other benefits.” She shared that walnuts contain a large amount of heart-healthy fats, and consuming one-half cup daily can lower LDL, or “bad,” cholesterol levels. Walnuts can also help boost healthy bacteria in the digestive tract, supporting the immune system, metabolism and brain health. Studies are also connecting eating walnuts before bed with improved sleep.

The club meets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the Nashville Global Methodist Church, with weigh-in at 5 p.m.
