Holmes County District Public Library announces family-friendly November events
Story times, reindeer visits, therapy dogs and holiday celebrations highlight a month of reading and community fun across all library branches

The Holmes County District Public Library has announced its lineup of November events and programs for families and children at the Holmes Central Library, East Branch Library and Killbuck Library locations.
Story times will be held throughout the month. At the East Branch Library, story time will take place Wednesdays, Nov. 5, 12 and 19 at 10:30 a.m. Children age 2-5, accompanied by an adult, are invited for stories, songs and rhymes. At the Holmes Central Library, Growing Readers Storytime will be held Fridays, Nov. 7, 14 and 21 at 10:30 a.m. Children age 2-5 and their parents or caregivers are invited to take part in stories, songs, rhymes and more. Immediately following, the Little Learners Playgroup will meet at 11 a.m. on the same dates. This program is open to children up to age 5 and their parents or caregivers for an hour of playtime featuring hands-on activities designed to promote reading and social skills. Snacks will be provided.
The Killbuck Library will host story times Tuesdays, Nov. 4, 18 and 25 at 10:30 a.m. Children age 2-5 with parents or caregivers are invited to join in for stories, songs, rhymes and more.
At the East Branch Library, a Tree Lighting Open House will be held Friday, Nov. 7 from 6-8:30 p.m. during Walnut Creek’s Christmas in the Village celebration. The event will include craft stations, book displays and a prize wheel.
Paws to Read will take place Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to noon in the children’s department at the Holmes Central Library. Children are invited to stop by and read to therapy dogs from Caring Therapy Canines.
Reindeer Games at the Holmes Central Library will take place Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. Visitors can meet Santa, get up close with live reindeer and read to a Caring Therapy Canine. The program also will feature Christmas-themed activities including a sensory-friendly area.
