Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club sets upcoming activities

Members plan service projects and May meeting

The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club discussed upcoming events, community service projects and future activities during its April meeting.

The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met April 11 at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.

President Zander Croskey opened the meeting for business. The United States flag pledge was led by Braxton Tish. The 4-H flag pledge was led by Lelynd Edens/Hamilton. Braxton Tish gave the secretary’s report in the absence of Secretary Cameron Hinton. The treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer JC Baker.

Community service projects were discussed and updated.

Club members discussed dates to make up thank-you bags and thank-you notes for veterans. It was decided to do the bags and notes during the May 9 meeting. The bags and notes will be dropped off at the Veterans Administration Office by club advisor Patricia Lang for distribution before Memorial Day.

Club members discussed and voted to purchase a new United States flag for the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.

Refreshments were furnished by Lang.

Health Officer Edens/Hamilton shared a health tip with club members.

Safety Officer Tish shared a safety tip with club members.

The meeting was closed by Croskey.

Disciplines that club members participated in were rifle, shotgun and archery.

The next meeting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. May 9 at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club, 6781 Township Road 310, Millersburg.

Refreshments for the meeting will be provided by the Croskey family.
