Ridgewood High names January Students of the Month

Addison Lahmers, Mason Hershberger, Solee Alonso, Noah Smoulder and Paisyn Howell recognized for achievements.

Ridgewood High School celebrated its January Student of the Month recipients.

Addison Lahmers

The 12th grade Student of the Month was Addison Lahmers. She is being recognized for her hard work. In the classroom, athletics and the community, she is a role model.

Lahmers is the daughter of Jodi and Josh Lahmers. At school she is the president of Foreign Language Club. She is involved in Teen Institute, Student Council, Big Brothers Big Sisters, National Honors Society and the AI class. She is in the top 5%, and she plays volleyball, softball and track. Outside of school she is president of Progressive Livestock 4-H Club, on fair court and CCYL '25.

Lahmers said Ridgewood is a place where students can grow and change into anything. Her advice is do what truly makes you happy, stay true to yourself and don’t let negative people distract you from becoming your best self. She would like to thank her family for showing up to everything, pushing her to be her best and always encouraging her to try new things. She will major in psychology, minor in biology, follow a premed track and play college softball. She plans to become a psychiatrist specializing in child or sports rehabilitation.

Mason Hershberger
Solee Alonso

The 11th grade Student of the Month is Mason Hershberger. He is being recognized for his hard work. In addition to this, he demonstrates kindness to his peers.

The 10th grade Student of the Month is Solee Alonso. She is being recognized for her pleasant attitude and her dedication. She is a motivated student and a reliable participant in school activities.

Alonso is the daughter of Lucy and Chico Alonso. At school she is involved in Student Council, and she is class vice president. She is looking forward to improving herself as a person and academically. She loves how supportive the staff is at Ridgewood.

Her advice to other students is do not be afraid to ask for help. She would like to thank her family for the sacrifices they have made to get her where she is today. Her future plans are to continue an education after high school to become a nurse.

Noah Smoulder
Paisyn Howell

Ninth grade Student of the Month is Noah Smoulder. He is being recognized for his hard work and his commitment to participating in many extra-curricular activities. He takes on the challenges and the responsibilities of his busy schedule with positivity and reliability. He is an all-around model student.

Smoulder is the son of Jesse and Angie Smoulder. At school he is involved in baseball, football, basketball, drama, the musical, Student Council, choir and Syntax Error. Outside of school he is involved in his church. He is looking forward to the Ridgewood and Steelers football seasons.

Smoulder loves the people at Ridgewood. His advice to other students is when life gets tough, fight through adversity. He would like to thank his dad and mom for everything they do for him.

Eighth grade Student of the Month is Paisyn Howell. She is being recognized for her thoughtfulness, respect and work ethic in everything she does. She is the daughter of Lindsay and Kris Howell.

At Ridgewood Howell is involved in volleyball, softball and choir. She also is involved in travel softball and 4-H. This year she is really looking forward to learning new things. She loves that there are so many kind students and teachers at Ridgewood.

One piece of advice she would give to other students is prioritize yourself and your school work. She would like to thank her family for always showing up for her.

Her future plans are to go to a good college and find out what she wants to do as a future career.
