The Wayne County Democrats will host a public candidate forum bringing together the eight Democratic candidates appearing on the District 7 congressional primary ballot. The forum, titled “You Have a Choice,” will take place at 1 p.m. March 21 at the Wooster Branch of the Wayne County Public Library.
This forum is designed to provide voters with an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates, understand their priorities and make informed decisions ahead of the primary election. Informed and engaged voters are essential to a healthy democracy, and this event aims to support responsible civic participation.
Each candidate will have time to address the audience and respond to moderated questions focused on issues relevant to serving in Congress. Due to the unprecedented number of candidates in this primary race, all questions will be asked by the moderator to ensure fairness and efficient use of time.
The forum will focus on why each candidate is seeking voters’ support and what they identify as their key congressional priorities.
Candidates expected to attend include John Butchko, Ann Marie Donegan, Michael Eisner, Ed Fitzgerald, Keith Mundy, Brian Poindexter, Laura Rodriguez-Carbone and Scott Schulz.
During breaks and following the formal program, attendees will have time to engage informally with individual candidates.
“This number of candidates in a primary election is unprecedented for our district,” forum organizers said. “This forum provides a valuable opportunity for voters to become familiar with the candidates and their priorities before making their primary ballot choice.”
