Voter registration deadline approaches in Wayne County
Register by April 6 for the May 5 primary election at various local sites or online
Voter registration for the May 5 primary/special election is due by April 6, with multiple in-person and online options available, and early voting beginning April 7 requiring valid photo ID.

Monday, April 6, is the deadline to register for the primary/special election to be held Tuesday, May 5.
Voters may visit www.VoteOhio.gov or www.WayneCountyOH.gov to register online, check their voter registration, change their address, locate their polling place, view sample ballots and find absentee voter information.
Voters can also register in person at one of the following locations by the registration deadline:
—Wayne County Board of Elections office, 200 Vanover St. (second floor), Wooster. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and office hours April 6 will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
—The Ohio Secretary of State’s Office.
—BMV or deputy registrars.
—Office of designated agencies, including the Department of Job and Family Services, the Department of Health (including WIC), the Department of Mental Health, the Department of Developmental Disabilities or any state-assisted college or university that provides assistance to disabled students.
—County treasurer’s office.
—Any public library.
—Any public high school or vocational school.
Qualifications to register for this election:
—Must be a citizen of the United States.
—Must be 18 years of age on or before the Nov. 3 general election.
—Must be a resident of Ohio 30 days prior to the day of the election.
—You are not incarcerated for a felony conviction.
—You have not been declared incompetent for voting purposes by a probate court.
—You have not been permanently disenfranchised for violations of election laws.
