Senior projects showcase student creativity
Medina High School continues to champion student creativity and collaboration through two innovative programs that connect artistic expression with leadership and interdisciplinary learning.
This spring, the school unveiled the Creative Cove Gallery, a student-led initiative launched by seniors Jay Milewski and Zoey Dressler as part of their Senior Capstone Project. The gallery officially opened May 9 in the school foyer, debuting with a vibrant exhibition of work by AP and Honors Art Portfolio students. The space provides a platform for young artists to share their voices and visions with the broader school community. Plans are underway for quarterly exhibits in the upcoming academic year.
Complementing this visual arts initiative is the ongoing Creative Exchange program, launched in 2022. This cross-curricular collaboration blends the talents of students in visual arts, English Language Arts, science and history.
One highlight includes a project pairing creative writing students with AP and honors art students, where short stories are visually interpreted through companion artworks, resulting in a dynamic showcase of storytelling and creativity.
Together, the Creative Cove Gallery and Creative Exchange exemplify Medina High School’s commitment to cultivating student-driven innovation across disciplines, the school district stated.
