Medina Mayor Jim Shields marked another early milestone in his first weeks as mayor by administering the oath of office to the city’s newest police officer, Daniel Cubrilo.

Cubrilo is a graduate of Strongsville High School and Bowling Green State University, where he earned a degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology. The 23-year-old previously served as a corrections officer with the Strongsville Police Department.
