Medina schools collect 500 coats during annual Coats for Kids Express
The district’s weeklong drive gathered hundreds of winter essentials to help local children stay warm this season.
Medina City Schools, in partnership with the Transportation Department, hosted its annual Coats for Kids Express drive Nov. 3–7. The initiative invited community members to donate new or gently used winter items — including coats, hats, mittens, gloves and snow pants — to help local children stay warm throughout the cold-weather season.
Donations were accepted at school buildings across the district, including the Board of Education Office at 739 Weymouth Road, throughout the week and during designated collection times. The community response was remarkable.
By the end of the drive, about 500 coats, along with numerous other winter items, had been collected. The contributions made a meaningful difference for families across Medina, ensuring students had access to essential cold-weather clothing.
