Medina Hospital offers scholarships for 2026
Applications open for Medina County students pursuing medical careers; deadline March 16.
Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital and the Medina Hospital Foundation are accepting scholarship applications from Medina County students pursuing medical careers, with applications due by 4 p.m. March 16.
Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital, its medical staff and the Medina Hospital Foundation are accepting scholarship applications from Medina County graduates pursuing a course of study in the medical field during the 2026-27 academic year. Scholarships are made possible by the hospital’s medical staff and donors to the Medina Hospital Foundation.
These scholarships have provided more than $800,000 to Medina-area students pursuing medical careers. In 2025, Medina Hospital awarded 29 scholarships totaling more than $44,000.
Applications must be submitted online by 4 p.m. Monday, March 16.
While eligibility details vary by scholarship, general requirements include graduation from one of the seven Medina County school districts and pursuit of a health care-related field of study. Students seeking careers as doctors, nurses or allied health professionals are encouraged to apply. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability or national origin.
Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship – Up to 10 scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded to high school seniors who reside in Medina County and are pursuing careers in the medical field. Administered by the Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital Medical Staff, the scholarship was established to recognize and encourage young adults pursuing careers in medicine, nursing or allied health professions. Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital Foundation Community Scholarships – The program will distribute up to $20,000 in new awards. Fourteen scholarships of $1,000 each will be granted. In addition, two Bill & Ruth Kelly scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to select Medina County high schools, and two Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to high school seniors from Canton McKinley High School. Scholarships are for undergraduate study only and are not renewable, though students may reapply annually while eligible. Recipients may receive only one scholarship at a time. Jean Myers Gift Gallery Scholarship Program – Up to seven scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to Medina Hospital student volunteers and dependents of hospital caregivers. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll, or are currently enrolled, in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.
Applicants must be dependent children, age 25 and younger, of full- or part-time Medina Hospital employees with at least one year of employment as of the application deadline of March 16, 2026, or student volunteers who have completed at least 40 hours of service at Medina Hospital within the past 12 months and are in good standing with the volunteer program. Provided there are qualified applicants, at least four scholarships will be awarded to student volunteers. Recipients of those four awards do not need to be children of employees.
