On Friday, Aug. 29, the Chatham General Store was selected by the Medina County Convention and Visitors Bureau to host the lunch stop for members of the Tickin’ Ts of Central Ohio’s 36th annual Ohio Model T Jamboree.

It was a picture-perfect day as Model Ts from 1908 to 1927 lined the grounds, ranging from fully restored beauties to original classics. Among the visitors were Bruce and Suzanne Stauffer, joined by Tom and Elaine Weygandt of Wooster, who arrived in their 1925 black Model T with red pinstripes and a fully enclosed cabin. Seeing the vehicles parked beside the store evoked a sense of nostalgia, harkening back to the days when rows of Model Ts were a common sight in Chatham.

Guests enjoyed boxed lunches featuring General Store favorites such as the Chatham Tripler with chips and a bakery treat, the Italian sub and the chicken salad croissant, all for $5. The store also offered Hershey’s ice cream and root beer floats, which are available year-round.

The Chatham General Store regularly hosts large community events like this one and plans to continue serving as a gathering place for the Chatham community.
