One of the most striking features of the facility is its large indoor gymnasium, which provides ample room for physical activities, group games, and special events, especially valuable during Ohio’s colder months. The gym will serve as a central gathering space for children across all age groups, promoting healthy physical development and teamwork through structured play.
The outdoor playground is another highlight of the new center. Designed with safety as a top priority, the play area includes secure fencing, soft surfaces, and age-appropriate equipment for both younger and older children. The design team worked to create a space that encourages imagination, exploration, and social interaction while keeping children safe and active.
Inside, the kitchen space drew praise from visitors during the open house. The kitchen features modern appliances, durable countertops, and plenty of storage, allowing staff to prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for the children each day. Guests expressed appreciation for the attention to detail and the importance placed on healthy eating and food safety.

In addition to its play and learning areas, the facility also includes a sensory room, providing a calm, therapeutic space for children who may need a break from the day’s activities. Tia Rhinebolt, Assistant Director of Learning at The Learning Lighthouse, emphasized the value of this feature, saying, “If a child feels overwhelmed or needs a break, the sensory room offers a sensory reset.” The inclusion of this specialized area reflects the center’s commitment to meeting the emotional and developmental needs of every child.
The childcare facility will operate Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing flexible care options for working parents. Enrollment is currently open for families interested in joining the program.
