Ruckman elected vice president of Ohio Auctioneers Association
Mount Vernon auctioneer chosen for 2026 term following vote at association’s annual conference
John P. Ruckman of Mount Vernon has been elected vice president of the Ohio Auctioneers Association for the 2026 term following a vote of the membership at the Association’s annual conference held Jan. 9-10 in Columbus.
Ruckman is the owner and principal auctioneer of The Ruckman Group Auctions & Appraisals and has been actively involved in the Ohio Auctioneers Association for several years. He previously served as a Director and then Treasurer of the Association, where he provided financial oversight and contributed to long-term fiscal planning. His election to vice president reflects continued confidence from his peers in his leadership, professionalism, and commitment to the auction industry.
As vice president, Ruckman will assist in guiding the Association’s strategic direction, supporting education and professional development, and upholding ethical standards for auctioneers across Ohio. In addition to these duties, he will participate in legislative activities as they relate to Ohio auctioneers and the state’s auctioneer licensing framework.
“I am honored by the trust placed in me by my fellow auctioneers,” Ruckman said. “The Ohio Auctioneers Association plays an important role in maintaining professional standards and public confidence in our industry, and I look forward to continuing to serve in a way that supports both auctioneers and the communities they serve.”
Ruckman operates a family-run auction business based in Knox County. Through The Ruckman Group Auctions & Appraisals, he specializes in estate, farm, equipment, and specialty auctions serving Knox County and surrounding areas. He remains active in civic, agricultural, and community organizations and is a graduate of the Repperts Auction School & the Certified Auctioneers Institute.
The Ohio Auctioneers Association is a statewide professional organization dedicated to promoting education, ethical practices, and excellence within the auction industry.
