On July 1, the Rotary Club of Mount Vernon gathered to honor the accomplishments of outgoing President Zach Green and to welcome incoming President Halle Krajenski during its annual leadership celebration.
Green concluded his year of service with a heartfelt message of gratitude and accomplishment. Among the highlights of his term was the successful Pints for Polio initiative, which aimed to raise $1,000 in support of Rotary International’s PolioPlus campaign. Thanks to the generosity and commitment of Rotary members, the club exceeded that goal — donating $1,140 toward the global effort to eradicate polio. This achievement stands as a powerful example of Rotary's impact when service meets community collaboration.
The event also marked a significant transition, as Sandy Knoesel, District 6690 Governor, administered the oath of office to Krajenski. Krajenski steps into leadership with deep respect for the club’s legacy and an eye toward collective purpose and unity.
In her first remarks as president, Krajenski reminded members, “Leadership is not about title, but by how we show up for, and treat others.” With humility and resolve, she embraced the 2025-2026 Rotary International theme — United for Good — promising to guide the club with service, compassion, and collaboration at the heart of every initiative.
The Rotary Club of Mount Vernon continues to stand as a cornerstone of service in Knox County and beyond, championing causes that support health, education, youth leadership, and global humanitarian efforts.
