Miller’s buzzer-beater lifts East Knox boys past Northmor

Kyson Miller wasn’t in the mood to play an extra period on Tuesday.
The East Knox senior, with 1.1 seconds left, took an inbounds pass and drained a 3-pointer, lifting the Bulldogs to a 44-41 upset of Knox Morrow Athletic Conference foe Northmor.
The Bulldogs had trailed 30-26 through three quarters, but Miller took over in the fourth, scoring 14 of his team-high 21 points, to lift them to the victory. Miller sank three 3-pointers on the night, including the game-winner.
Mason Payne added eight points for the Bulldogs, while Jaxon Crawford had seven and Peyton Hull six.
A strong defensive showing led the East Knox boys’ basketball team to a 48-32 victory over Loudonville on Jan. 14.
The Bulldogs held the Redbirds to just three points in the first quarter and just two in the third en route to the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference win at Loudonville.
Kyson Miller led the Bulldogs with 16 points. Jaxon Crawford added eight, while Rush Beatty had seven and Peyton Hull six.
East Knox ran into a buzzsaw on Jan. 16, falling to undefeated Fredericktown, 73-42.
Hull led the Bulldogs with 12 points. Bruz Gibson added nine points, while Crawford had seven points and four rebounds, and Miller had six points.
