Kenyon women’s soccer earns Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award
Owls recognized by United Soccer Coaches after completing 2025 season without a red card
The United Soccer Coaches announced recently that the Kenyon College women’s soccer team was the recipient of the organization's Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award for the 2025 season.
The award was created to recognize teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior, and adherence to the laws of the game. In order to be eligible for the award, a team had to play at least 10 matches and had to receive no red cards. Additionally, an eligible team had to have a yellow card percentage (yellow cards divided by games played) that did not exceed 50 percent.
The 2025 Owls posted a 9-4-5 overall record and placed fourth in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings. The team had no red cards and just four yellows throughout 18 games played. The Owls yellow card percentage of 22 percent put them at the Silver level (30 percent or less) of award recognition.
