Freddies fall in heartbreaker to Danville
Blue Devils score in eighth inning to grab victory
The Fredericktown baseball team won one game, but fell in a heartbreaker to rival Danville this week.
The Freddies beat Lakewood, 11-6, on May 2.
Vince Lavin, Grady Mills and Cole Burnside each had two singles to lead the Freddies.
Jayce Beeman (one strike out), Nick LaFevre (one K) and Mason Bennett (two strike outs) all shared time on the hill for FHS.
Fredericktown then fell in a heart-breaker Monday, losing to Danville, 5-4, in eight innings.
Lavin led the Freddies with a double and two singles. Kaiden Gibson added two singles.
Bennett (two strike outs), Gavin Buzzard (five), LaFevre (one) and Lavin (two) all shared time on the mound.
Softball
A seven-run third inning propelled Fredericktown to a 13-2 victory over East Knox on April 30.
Rylei Schulties led the Freddies with two singles. Cassie Parker, Halie Mull, Jazzy Wittman and Vika Arnett all doubled.
Haylee Frye started on the bump for FHS, striking out three in 4.1 innings. Brooklyn Briegel finished up, fanning one.
Several three-run innings doomed Fredericktown in a 10-1 loss to Danville on Monday.
Kiersten Mills smacked a double to lead the Freddies. Abbey Wittman and Jazzy Wittman each singled.
Vika Arnett went the distance on the mound, striking out one.
