Centerburg boys basketball falls twice in KMAC play
Trojans drop league games to Danville and Mount Gilead; bowling teams also fall
Centerburg struggled offensively in the first half, and it cost them in an 80-49 loss to Knox Morrow Athletic Conference foe Danville on Jan. 16.
The Trojans trailed 34-16 at halftime and were never able to mount a comeback.
Steffan Sands led the Trojans with 20 points, including three 3-pointers. Brody Cole added 10 points, while Hayden Love had eight.
Centerburg watched as Mount Gilead erupted for 31 points in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 63-40 victory on Tuesday.
The Trojans trailed just 32-29 after three quarters but couldn’t match the Indians offensive outburst in the final frame.
Sands led the Trojans with 14 points. Cole added nine points and Drew Trout had six.
Bowling
The Centerburg bowling teams dropped their match with Mount Gilead on Jan. 14.
The boys’ team were beaten by the Indians, 2,029-1,603.
Michael Wallace led the Trojans with a 375 series (203-172). Zack Garloch shot 326 (135-191).
The girls’ squad also fell to the Indians, 1,542-1,198.
Azala Compton fired a 301 series (164-137) to lead the Trojans. Jaelyn Caldwell shot 222 (120-102).
