Save and Serve reaches giving milestone

Save and Serve Thrift Shop in Millersburg recently announced a significant milestone in its journey of giving back to the community. Through the generosity of volunteers, donors, and shoppers, the nonprofit store has reached $250,000 in local giving.
While Save and Serve is well known for supporting the global relief efforts of the Mennonite Central Committee, it has increased its commitment to giving locally in recent years. This was in response to a deepening awareness of local needs in the Holmes County region and with the encouragement of the Mennonite Central Committee..
“We want to thank our community for the incredible support, which has made this milestone possible. Your contributions have truly made a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors in need,” said Eric Raber, Save and Serve general manager.
To date, Save and Serve has contributed to 36 different local organizations, demonstrating a sustained commitment to community welfare. The store’s recent donation to a local church, providing resettlement assistance for a Ukrainian family, propelled the organization to achieve the $250,000 mark in community giving.
In addition to a community grant program, Save and Serve continues to organize Community Benefit Days, in which 100 percent of sales are donated to a worthy local cause. The next Community Benefit Day is scheduled for June 29, supporting Love INC of Greater Holmes County.
“As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded of the power of community and the profound impact that each individual contribution makes,” Raber said. “Together, we are making a difference, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.”
