There’s still time to check out a copy of “Simply Symon Suppers” by Michael Symon and come to Orrville Public Library’s Monday, April 7 Cookbook Club. This cookbook contains simple menus that use pantry staples.

Prepare a dish or two to share with others, potluck style. The club will meet at 6 p.m. No registration is needed.

April Book Club

Orrville Public Library’s Book Club will meet Thursday, April 10 to discuss “The Housemaid” by Freida McFadden. Millie becomes a maid for an affluent family but only realizes when it’s too late that her attic bedroom door only locks from the outside.

Check out a copy of the book and come to the Book Club meeting to share your thoughts. Choose from the 10 a.m. or the 6:30 p.m. gathering. No registration is needed.

Friday Food Fun

There’s still time to register yourself and your preschooler for Orrville Public Library’s Friday Food Fun event on April 11 at 1 p.m. The theme is “sandwiches.” Bring a sandwich ingredient or a snack and the recipe to share. Attendees will make a grilled sandwich.

Registration closes at noon on April 9. Register by clicking the event on the library’s website calendar at www.orrville.lib.oh.us or calling the children’s desk at 330-683-1065.

Pictures with the Easter Bunny

Grab your camera and hop into Orrville Public Library to take your picture with the Easter Bunny. The library’s costumed Easter Bunny will be available Thursday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 5-7 p.m. No registration is needed.

Speed Puzzling

Join for Orrville Public Library’s inaugural adult speed puzzling event on Saturday, April 19. Assemble a team of up to four people and race to complete an identical 500-piece puzzle, which were donated by Ravensburger. The event will begin at 11 a.m.

This event is limited to five teams, each with a maximum of four people. Each person must be registered. If you don’t have a team, that’s OK. Register yourself and the library will attempt to put you with other puzzle lovers to form a team. Registration can be completed on the library’s website calendar or by calling the information desk.

Earth Day Terrariums

Registration will begin Monday, April 7 for Orrville Public Library’s free Earth Day Terrariums event. The library will upcycle a small glass jar into a living terrarium. Bring your own small jar or use one of OPL’s. The library will supply the soil, moss and seedlings to help you start your own ecosystem.

This free event will be Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. Registration can be completed by clicking the event on the library’s online calendar or by calling the information desk.

Teens Cook: Mug Cakes

Students in sixth grade through 12th grade are invited to bring a mug to Orrville Public Library and make themselves a sweet treat. The library will provide all the ingredients including gluten- and dairy-free options.

The group will meet Wednesday, April 23 at 4:30 p.m. Registration is required and will begin Monday, April 7. By registering for this program, parents/caregivers recognize Orrville Public Library is not responsible for any food-related reactions during the program.

Adulting 101

How do you know what papers to keep and what to toss? What’s the best way to clean your house or your room? Orrville Public Library staff will go over some of this information, as well as basic home repairs and upcycling, at Adulting 101: Fix, Clean, Organize.

Attendees will meet in the library’s lower-level meeting room on Monday, April 28 at 6 p.m. Registration will begin Monday, April 14 and close April 25. Register on the library’s website calendar or by calling the information desk.

This free series is for adults age 19 and over seeking help with basic adulting skills. The last session will be the May 27 Bingo Night.

Bits & Bytes: Cloud Storage

Orrville Public Library staff will partner with staff from Massillon Public Library as they explore the April Bits & Bytes program, Cloud Storage Basics. Attendees will learn about Cloud storage and some of the most popular options.

This free program will be held in Orrville Public Library’s lower-level meeting room on Tuesday, April 29 at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required and will begin Monday, April 7. Register by clicking the event on the library’s website calendar or calling the information desk.
