To support its mission of providing superior care and services to each patient and family, Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare will hold its 14th annual Gala and Benefit Auction on Saturday, March 30 from 5:30-11:15 p.m. at the Shisler Conference Center, 1680 Madison Ave., Wooster.
As part of the gala’s theme, "Celebrating Life’s Stories," attendees are encouraged to arrive in costume as their favorite book character. Whether dressed as characters from classic fairy tales, children’s books or novels, attendees will enjoy an evening of celebrating great stories along with special guests and honorary chairs Michael and Stephanie Reardon.
Sponsored by United Titanium, some of the funds raised from the event will go toward the creation of a mobile care unit. The unit will provide timely transport of patients and allow their families to ride with them. Funding for the unit is at $40,000 with the goal of raising a total of $100,000 to cover the cost of purchasing the vehicle and equipment.
Other funds raised from the event will be used for programs and services at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare such as Veteran-to-Veteran, a program that pairs recruited veteran volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as veterans, and Pet Peace of Mind, a program that enables hospice patients to keep their pets at home with them throughout their end-of-life journey.
Tickets cost $50 each. For more information about the event and to purchase tickets, go to https://ohioshospice.regfox.com/2019-lifecare-spring-gala.
