Newbridge Place, a nonprofit provider of 24-hour residential care for individuals living with mental illnesses, recently announced it received a $20,000 grant from the Wayne County Foundation. The funds will directly support the organization’s newest initiative: supportive housing for low-income, mentally ill veterans.

This project aims to address the growing need for stable housing and mental health services among veterans in the region. By combining safe, affordable housing with ongoing supportive care, Newbridge Place is working to create lasting change for veterans experiencing both financial hardship and mental health challenges.

“We are honored and grateful for this generous support from the Wayne County Foundation,” said Erzsebet Mikita, executive director of Newbridge Place. “This funding will empower us to provide critical resources to veterans who have served our country and now need our community’s help to thrive.”

Located in Lodi, Newbridge Place has long been a pillar of support for individuals with mental illnesses, offering residential care that promotes dignity, independence and wellness. This grant represents a significant step forward in the organization’s commitment to addressing homelessness and mental health crises among veterans.
