A total of 276 different families came to the Love Center during May. Some families came in more than once, making a grand total of 371 visits. Food from the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank was 42,682 pounds, and food donated by businesses, churches and individuals was 12,014 pounds. Volunteer hours served at the Love Center totaled 776.
Food and cash donations from churches and ministries included Clark Presbyterian Church, Faith Bible Church, Haven of Rest, Martins Creek Mennonite Church, St. John’s Church of Walnut Creek, St. John’s Women’s Ministry in Millersburg, St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Millersburg and Zion Reformed Church in Winesburg.
Food and cash donations from businesses, organizations and clubs included Ace Hardware, Amish Door Market, Baltic Meats, Berlin Natural Bakery, Coblentz Chocolates, Commercial & Savings Bank, Der Dutchman, Emma Cates Crust Bakery, East Holmes School District, Farmside Country Store, Heritage Event Center, Hershberger Farm & Bakery, Holmes County Dog Warden, Jitters Coffee House, Kauffman Bakery, McDonald’s in Millersburg, Mrs. Miller’s Noodles, Mt. Hope Country Health Store and Postal Drive, WIC.
