Households helped by rental assistance grant

Last May OneEighty was awarded the Recovery Emergency Rental Assistance Grant from the Wayne County Community Foundation. These funds helped 44 households and 90 individuals in Wayne County struggling to secure or maintain housing due to a lack of financial resources and other support avenues.

This grant enabled OneEighty’s clients to prevent evictions and help them enter housing by covering the first month’s rent and deposit support that may not have been available otherwise. Particularly, these funds helped those who don’t quite meet the federal eligibility guidelines.

One beneficiary of this grant was Tony, a resident who faced challenges due to a construction injury. Tony had to be out of work for three months due to surgery, which left him without the means to keep his house. Thanks to the Recovery Emergency Rental Assistance Grant, Tony was able to keep his place while he recuperated from his surgery.
