Petitions are currently available at the Holmes County Board of Elections for anyone interested in becoming a candidate for the Nov. 4 general election. The following local offices will appear on the ballot: four village council members in all villages, board of public affairs members in Killbuck (one) and Holmesville (two), two township trustees in all townships, and three local school district board of education members in East Holmes and West Holmes.
Millersburg village office candidacy requires petitions with at least 50 valid signatures. Other village office candidacy requires petitions with at least 10 valid signatures. Local school district board of education member or township office candidacy requires petitions with at least 25 valid signatures.
The filing fee is $30, cash or check, payable to the Holmes County treasurer, and is due at the time of filing. Positions are for four-year terms. For more information contact the Holmes County Board of Elections.
The Holmes County Board of Elections is located at 75 E. Clinton St., Suite 108, Millersburg. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The filing deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 4 p.m.
