Hiland’s Wigton named Div. VI District V Player of the Year

The All-District V basketball teams were recently released, and several locals earned honors.

Boys

Hiland’s Nick Wigton was named Player of the Year in Division VI. He was joined on the first team by teammate Alex Miller. Sam Wengerd was a second-team choice while Logan Hershberger and Caleb Yoder received honorable mention accolades.

In Div. IV, West Holmes’ Manny Camacho earned second-team honors while Cooper Maltarich and Nate Sprang picked up honorable mention accolades.

In Div. V, Garaway’s Blaine Raber was a first-team pick. Bronson Speedy was a second-team choice while Brady Geibel and Bennet Wallick were named to the honorable mention team.

Girls

In Div. IV, West Holmes’ Aveona Yoder was a first-team pick. Briar Cline was a second-team choice while Jewel Brown and Zalina Proper earned honorable mention accolades.

In Div. VI, Garaway’s Paige Regula was a second-team selection. Quinn Schwartz and Charlee Yoder were named to the honorable mention team.

In Div. VII, Hiland’s Cody Starr was named Assistant Coach of the Year. Joplin Yoder was a first-team pick. Ellie Habeger and Macy Mullet were second-team choices. Evie Mast and Trish Troyer received honorable mention accolades.
