Garaway, Hiland land several on All-IVC basketball

The Inter-Valley Conference released its All-IVC South Division basketball teams, and several locals earned honors.

Boys

Garaway senior Blaine Raber was named Player of the Year, and Hiland’s Mark Schlabach was tabbed Coach of the Year.

Raber was joined on the first team by Hiland’s Alex Miller and Nick Wigton.

Garaway’s Bronson Speedy and Hiland’s Sam Wengerd were second-team picks while Garaway’s Bennet Wallick and Hiland’s Logan Hershberger earned honorable mention accolades.

Girls

Hiland swept the top honors as senior Joplin Yoder was selected POY and Brady Schlabach was tabbed COY.

Yoder was joined on the first team by teammate Macy Mullet.

Garaway’s Paige Regula and Hiland’s Ellie Habeger were second-team choices while Garaway’s Quinn Schwartz and Hiland’s Trish Troyer were named to the honorable mention team.
