Foster Brown closes Free Speaker Series

Published Modified

Fort Laurens’ final 2017 Free Speaker Series event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. in the Fort Laurens Museum auditorium.

Foster Brown, a naturalist with Cleveland Metroparks, will portray fictional Gallagher the Canaler, an Irish canal digger, and provide a historical interpretation of life along the Ohio and Erie Canalway in the early 1800s. Brown will sing songs, tell stories and encourage audience participation.

Brown is a graduate of Northland College in Wisconsin and has spent more than 20 years providing naturalist and historical interpretation about Northeast Ohio with topics ranging from successful wildlife management in the Cleveland Metroparks to the life and times of “celebrity” fur traders in the 1700s Ohio Territory.
