Holmes County is unique in many ways, and one specific feature of the community is its entrepreneurial spirit.

While there are plenty of business-savvy people in the community, one particular feature of the county is many of its business partners feel the same way about sharing their faith through their work.

There is a great deal of sentiment throughout Holmes County that sharing faith isn’t only left for when attending church, but rather it is something to be shared with others throughout the work week.

What better way to share thoughts about this practice than during the Christmas season?

“I don’t know how you separate your faith from your business,” said Lee Miller, owner of Paint Valley Equipment. “It’s how you deal with people. It’s one common thread. Our faith determines how we see people and how we communicate with them, and it determines how we value other people. We definitely operate in a space in Holmes County where it’s OK to talk about that sort of thing in our business because it opens up real, meaningful conversations with our business partners that otherwise may never have happened if we weren’t willing to be transparent about who we are.”

Other business members were honored to share their thoughts on the subject.

“We have a very different type of community that allows us to celebrate Christmas and our faith boldly. Our faith is such a big part of our families and our business community, and we are able to share that freely.”

“It’s very important to us to support the people and the core values of this community. It’s our lifeblood, as well as our chosen work. We raise our families here; people go to church here and shop here. We fellowship, play ball and live life right here by choice. Because of that, it adds more meaning to the service that we provide, and we consider that a privilege, to be a small part of what makes our area so special.

“The holiday season, beginning with Thanksgiving and moving right through Christmas, is a time when people pause and reflect on the special relationships we have in our homes and in Holmes. When these types of unique opportunities come up, we’re all grateful for the manifold blessings we’ve experienced in this community and are able to celebrate through our faith. That’s another distinctive of our community.”
