CCC to host annual banquet and fundraiser
Clark Community Center is aptly named because its focus from the beginning has been to enhance the community’s ability to gather together and celebrate. As a way to ensure that effort continues, the CCC will host its annual banquet dinner and benefit auction on Saturday, April 22 with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and the auction kicking off at 6 p.m.

Clark Community Center will host a banquet dinner and benefit auction on Saturday, April 22 with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and the auction kicking off at 6 p.m.
Presale tickets are $20 per plate, which includes a raffle entry for a Yeti cooler, while a child’s plate is $10 per plate. Tickets at the door are $25 per plate, with dinner being catered by Exclusively Yours Catering.
The evening will include dinner, a live auction, a silent auction, raffles and a gun raffle.
“This is our big fundraiser for the year,” CCC President Taylor Faunce said. “We have many smaller fundraisers throughout the year, but this is the one that is essential to our ongoing effort to provide a great place for groups to meet, whether it’s reunions, graduation parties, organizations or any kind of gathering.”
Faunce said the center continues to grow each year with its rentals, with both the gymnasium or the many classrooms.
“Our rentals are getting stronger and stronger,” Faunce said. “At this point we are booked up almost every weekend into June, and we are available any day of the week.”
The evening of the event will include a gun raffle for a Taurus gc3 9 mm pistol and a .22 Henry Golden Boy rifle.
To prepurchase tickets, call any of the CCC board members including Faunce at 330-231-3592, Kevin Lint at 330-231-0162, Cheryl Seabright at 330-231-0819, Trae Schonauer at 330-473-7506 or Travis Sheldon at 330-231-6224.
Finally, keep an eye out for promotional pieces for the CCC’s upcoming car show on July 22. That event will feature a full car show complete with trophies, a flea market, a live band, food and more.
“That’s going to be a huge summer event for us,” Faunce said.
The Clark Community Center also will host hunter-safety courses on Saturday, April 22 and Saturday, April 29 from noon to 3 p.m. Those attending must attend on both days to earn credit.
According to Faunce, this event is already filling up with more than 40 people, most of them youth, having preregistered.
Education courses will be presented by volunteer host Patricia Lang. Preregistration is requested, although not necessary, and space is limited.
“Pat does a great job of educating and teaching safety, and it’s a great way for people to get credit for their hunting license,” Faunce said.
The event is free of charge. Inquiries or registration can be done through both Faunce and Lint.
Clark Community Center is located at 1390 state Route 83 in Clark.
