Rural Action, a local nonprofit with offices in New Philadelphia, has a multi-day outdoor summer camp planned for June 13-17.

Children ages 8-12 are invited to attend. Caregivers can drop their children off at Tuscora Park between 8 and 8:30 a.m., and pick them back up at Tuscora Park at 4 p.m.

Children will be shuttled from the park to various locations around the county where they can explore and learn about their environment. Lunch is provided daily. The cost for the week’s activities is $75.

This will be the ninth year of Camp Watershed.

Campers will spend their days learning about watersheds, macroinvertebrates, acid mine drainage, recycling and more. There will be plenty of chances to get dirty while exploring, hiking, and playing in local creeks.

Campers will even spend a morning learning the ins-and-outs of fishing. Everything from habitat requirements, proper handling, and baiting a hook. All followed by a chance to test their new skills in a stocked pond.

For more information, contact Sarah Robinson at sarahr@ruralaction.org or visit bit.ly/campwatershed2022. Registration closes on Monday, June 6. Some limited financial assistance is available.
