Bookmark art contest

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System is encouraging community members to participate in its Library Bookmark Art Contest, now open through Aug. 1.

“We are inviting community members of all ages to design a limited-edition bookmark and show us how libraries color our world,” public relations associate Megan Kovalaske-Grimm said. “There are some talented artists in Tuscarawas County. This is a chance for them to use their talents to reflect how libraries color our world.”

Participants should submit printed artwork measuring 2-by-8 inches. Artwork can be created using any medium including computer art, photography, crayon, watercolor, marker, oil, acrylic or pencil but must be one-dimensional for printing purposes. AI-generated artwork is not permitted.

Entries will be judged by a three-person panel based on how well they express the role libraries play in society and how they reflect the theme, “Color Our World.” Entries must be turned in at any Tuscarawas County Public Library location during regular business hours by Friday, Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Winners will be announced in September during Library Card Sign-up Month. Selected artwork will be featured on limited-edition bookmarks available at library locations while supplies last.

Entry forms containing contest guidelines are available at all library branches or online at www.tusclibrary.org. Call 330-364-4474 ext. 221.
