The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will host local author Wendy Koile for two public programs this summer at the Tuscarawas County Main Library. Koile will explore Ohio’s hidden treasures and criminal past in presentations that blend history, folklore and investigative research.
“We are pleased to have Wendy Koile present two programs for us this summer,” Library Director Michelle McMorrow Ramsell said. “It is fascinating to listen to her as she shares these well-researched tales of Ohio intrigue.”
The first program, Legends and Lost Treasures in Ohio, will be Wednesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. Koile will share stories of treasure seekers and hidden hoards, exploring the legends, clues and history behind them.
The second program, Shades of Darkness: Ohio Crimes, will take place Thursday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. Koile will examine several of the state's most sensational historical crimes including the Red Slipper Murder and the Purple Poison Mystery, using archival records and investigative insight.
Both programs will be held at the Tuscarawas County Main Library, 121 Fair Ave. NW, New Philadelphia. Registration is required. Visit www.tusclibrary.org or call 330-364-4474.
