Amateur radio club to take part in national Field Day

The Tusco Amateur Radio Club will take part in the 2025 ARRL Field Day from noon Saturday, June 28 through noon Sunday, June 29 at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds.

Field Day is an annual nationwide event organized by the American Radio Relay League to promote amateur radio operation and emergency preparedness. The event brings together licensed amateur radio operators — commonly known as hams — who communicate with other stations across the country under simulated emergency conditions.

The local event is free to attend. Community members are invited to bring their radios or stop by to learn more about how amateur radio works. Club members will be on hand to demonstrate equipment, explain the basics of radio operation and highlight the critical role ham radio plays in disaster response when traditional communication methods fail.
