Letter From Sally

Great-Uncle Clyde's timeless lesson

Reflecting on faith and wisdom from Wells, Maine, 60 years ago

Clyde Daggett was Grammie Scott's brother.

He and his wife Tressa lived in a house with Indian shutters in Wells, Maine.

Tall and distinguished with beautiful white hair, Uncle Clyde had one major focus: living a Christian life. This meant knowing his Bible and being able to talk with people about his faith.

One day Mum asked Uncle Clyde to sum up all the lessons in the Bible. His answer is just as important now as it was 60 or more years ago: "God is good."
