Thirty-six vendors participated in the Health, Safety and Wellness Expo March 14 in the Coshocton Community Room, offering a wealth of information. The free event was sponsored by the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce and Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

"This is the 12th annual Health, Safety and Wellness Expo,” said Amy Crown, chamber executive director. “We have 23 booths with the hospital, everything from meeting physicians to getting your blood pressure, blood draws, those kinds of things."

"We do this event in partnership with the chamber," said Kaylee Andrews, director of business, development and marketing at Coshocton Regional Medical Center. "We are here with a lot of services from the hospital. This is a really great community event. It's great to have the other vendors that are here to show the community everything there is to offer here in Coshocton."

Elizabeth Roderick with Area Agency on Aging Region 9 said, "We are here giving out jar openers, pens and refrigerator magnets. We help older adults stay in their homes and live independently through assisted living and other caregiving opportunities. We are located in Cambridge. Call us at 800-945-4250."

Kara Hatfield is a practice manager at Genesis HealthCare System at Coshocton Specialty Center.

"Today we are here advertising our specialty services that are offered at Genesis Coshocton. We can provide all kinds of services, like infusions, therapy services, and we have the emergency department, as well as all types of different specialties such as ear, nose and throat; orthopedics; gynecologists; cardiology. So you can get your care close to home. Genesis is very happy to be here in Coshocton and support this community," Hatfield said.

Nurse practitioner Dawn White provided some primary care health information to help with understanding some functional features.

"It's not just take a pill to get better, but health coaching to help you understand what you can do to help yourself, like maybe you don't need that diabetes medicine or that blood pressure medicine. The goal is to make you overall healthy and not just treat your symptoms," White said.

"Our mission statement is to cherish every child from conception and welcome them into families that thrive," said Becky Armstrong, executive director of the Pregnancy Center of Coshocton. "That is our focus. We want to help mothers and dads know that they can be good parents and provide them with classes and material goods that they might need.

"Our boutique is from size newborn to 2T and diapers up to size seven. They can earn those through our parenting platform called Bright Course. We've been in business since 1990, so this is our 36th year. Last September we tripled our space, extending into the Wiley Building at 511 Walnut St."
