Wooster City Schools reviews Strategic Plan progress, starts work on 2026–29 goals

Superintendent Gabe Tudor outlines 2023–25 achievements—from curriculum alignment to student wellness—and invites community input as the next plan takes shape

At the Sept. 16 Wooster Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Gabe Tudor shared a progress update on Wooster City Schools’ 2023-25 Strategic Plan, highlighting achievements from the past three years and previewing the district’s next phase of planning.

Created through extensive community input, the 2023-25 Strategic Plan outlined goals for student success, staff support and long-term district growth.

“Wooster’s Strategic Plan has been a guiding document that helped us set priorities and make progress in key areas,” Tudor said. “These accomplishments are the result of collaboration between our staff, students, families and community. Now we look forward to building on this foundation as we prepare the 2026-29 plan.”

Some accomplishments include the following:

—Aligning the K-12 curriculum with the skills and knowledge needed in today’s job market.

—Expanding course offerings and student leadership opportunities.

—Launching a 1:1 technology program paired with professional development for teachers.

—Creating a wellness task force to address student mental health needs.

—Increasing staff and resources dedicated to social-emotional learning.

—Strengthening communication tools and outreach with families, staff and the community.

—Developing a revised master facilities plan to guide future infrastructure investments.

—Implementing strategies to recruit and retain a diverse team of high-quality educators and staff.

With the 2023-25 plan nearing completion, the district is preparing to develop its 2026-29 Strategic Plan, with opportunities for community feedback set to begin in spring 2026.
