Wayne County recognizes Child Support Awareness Month
The Wayne County Board of Commissioners recently proclaimed August as Child Support Awareness Month, honoring the parents, agencies and community partners who work to ensure children receive the financial support they need to thrive.
The proclamation recognizes the well-being of Ohio’s children and families depends on consistent and adequate support, commending parents who faithfully meet their obligations and acknowledging the challenges some noncustodial parents face.
The commissioners also emphasized the importance of supportive services to help parents overcome barriers.
“We affirm that a strong and effective child support enforcement program requires the shared commitment, leadership and collaboration of courts, government agencies, parents and lawmakers,” Commissioner Dave McMillen read from the proclamation. “In alignment with the statewide theme, ‘Support Is Key,’ we recognize the essential work of our local Child Support Enforcement Agency and encourage all citizens who are involved in or impacted by child support to join us in strengthening the lives of children and families throughout Wayne County.”
More information about services and assistance is available at www.waynecountycsea.org.
