Genealogy expert Noel Poirier to speak at Fort Laurens July 12
Poirier will present in the Fort Laurens theater, where he will explain genealogy research with a focus on the work that has been done — and is still underway — regarding Fort Laurens.
Noel Poirier, executive director of the Ohio Genealogical Society, will speak at Fort Laurens on Saturday, July 12, at 11 a.m. as part of the 2025 Free Speaker Series.
Poirier will present in the Fort Laurens theater, where he will explain genealogy research with a focus on the work that has been done — and is still underway — regarding Fort Laurens.
He brings an extensive background in history and museums, having served as executive director of the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum and as a historic trades liaison to the John D. Rockefeller Library. He has also worked with two living historical farms in Pennsylvania and the National Watch & Clock Museum, Library and Research Center in Columbia, Pennsylvania, which houses the world’s largest horological collection.
