Main Street Medina seeks to raise funds for community projects

Annual Appeal aims to create Medina Bee Park while supporting events, small business programs and downtown beautification efforts

Main Street Medina’s annual appeal aims to raise the remaining funds needed to transform an underused South Broadway space into the new Medina Bee Park, a public gathering spot set to debut during Pollinator Week in June 2026.
Main Street Medina’s annual appeal is raising funds to transform a Medina Supply site on South Broadway from an underused space into the future Medina Bee Park.

Main Street Medina is a volunteer-based, nonprofit community development organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the charm, vitality and sustainability of Medina’s Historic and South Town districts. The organization works toward a thriving community that celebrates local heritage, fosters community connections and invites visitors to shop, dine and unwind in Medina.

Each year, Main Street Medina hosts free, family-friendly seasonal events including Medina Candlelight Walk — voted the best Medina County community event by the Medina Gazette in 2023 and 2024 — Medina Fall Festival, Kids Day & Teen Fest, South Town Arts & Music Festival and the weekly Medina Square Farmers Markets from spring through fall. The organization also sponsors Ladies Nights Out, Cars & Coffees, Restaurant Week and more.

Main Street Medina provides small businesses with promotional activities, co-op advertising, visitor profiles and market data, quarterly workshops and new business development. It also provides matching grant funding to commercial property owners within its footprint to help preserve historic façades and commercial buildings, and funding for public space activation, public arts initiatives and streetscape beautification projects.

Main Street Medina holds an Annual Appeal Campaign at the end of each year. This year, the organization is raising money to convert an underused space on South Broadway Street in the South Town District into a vibrant gathering space called the Medina Bee Park to commemorate the city’s “bee” heritage. The parklet will include public art, a stage and seating, and pollinator planters.

If you donate $100 or more now through Dec. 31, 2025, your name will be added to the Medina Bee Park, and you will be a VIP guest at the “Bloom on Broadway” unveiling event during Pollinator Week, June 15–21, 2026. The goal is to raise $20,000 through this campaign. So far, nearly $14,000 has been raised from the community.

Volunteers have begun preparing the future Medina Bee Park, installing turf and planters as Main Street Medina continues raising funds to complete the new community gathering space.

Main Street Medina thanked the volunteers who installed the Phase I turf, planters and evergreens on Nov. 16 in preparation for winter, and extended special appreciation to Medina Supply Co./Shelly Corp., the City of Medina, ForeverLawn and the Ohio Realtors Leadership Academy for their generous donations.
