St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will offer a preaching series during this year’s Holy Week. Holy Week, which begins with Palm Sunday on March 29, focuses on the days leading up to Good Friday and on to Easter or Resurrection Sunday. This is the second year for this offering.

On Monday, March 30, St. Paul’s will welcome the Rev. Michael Bryan Tigner. Father Tigner is the rector of St. James Episcopal Church in Zanesville. Episcopal voices will continue with Jennifer Potter Blue, a Lay Preacher from Grace Episcopal Church in Mansfield, on Tuesday.

Wednesday evening Pastor Rick Graumlich, Lead Pastor of Proclamation Church in Mount Vernon, will be the preacher. The week will continue with observances for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. St. Paul’s rector, Father Charles Wilson, will preach.

“St. Paul’s is glad to offer another year of varied voices sharing the Good news in the midst of a challenging week for Christians.” Wilson observed. “Holy Week is a unique time in the Christian calendar with some light but darkness and painfulness. Even though Easter beckons, time spent praying and reflecting on how we get there can make our joyous Alleluias filled with meaning.”

Wilson stressed that these offerings are for the whole community. All are invited to one or all of the services which begin at 6 p.m. at the church. St. Paul’s is located in downtown Mount Vernon at 101 E. High St.
