It didn’t take long for Addy Bocock find her stride.

The Danville pitcher, an All-Ohio selection a year ago, came out firing Tuesday, tossing a perfect game in leading the Blue Devils to a 10-0 victory over East Knox.

Bocock faced the minimum 15 batters in the five-inning game, striking out 13. She did not allow a walk and just two EK batters put the ball in play. Bocock struck out the first eight batters before Kendall Griffith grounded out to second baseman Taylor Meade. In the fourth, Mackenzie Wilson popped up to Meade.

The Blue Devils (2-0) needed just two innings to get its offense in gear, as well. Danville scored two runs in the second, then added four in both the third and fourth innings.

Dalayna Parker got things started with a one-out double. Parker moved to third on an error, then scored on a passed ball. Liz John, who reached on the error, scored on a ground out by Morgan Hinkens.

In the third, Kaylee Martin belted a home run to lead off the inning. A walk, hit by pitch and an error loaded the bases up, with John hitting a sacrifice fly to score a run. A bases loaded walk and a passed ball allowed the other two runs to score.

A single by Ruby Bartok knocked in a run in the fourth. Parker drove in two with another single and John singled in the final run.

Parker led the Devils with a single and a double. Martin homered, while Bocock, Bartok, Meade, John and Riley Johnston all singled.

Lydia Hill pitched for East Knox, striking out four while allowing eight hits and three walks.

Danville opened its season on Saturday, rallying with four runs in the seventh inning to beat Newark Catholic, 5-4.

After scoring once in the first inning on four walks, Danville’s bats went silent for the next five innings.

Trailing 4-1 and down to their last at bat, the Blue Devils dug deep to rally for the win. Martin started the inning with a leadoff double. Bocock singled her in, then scored with Bartok smacked a home run to tie the game at four. With two outs, Ryleigh Geog singled and then scored on a triple by Hinkens.

Hinkens led the Devils with a triple and a single, while Bartok had a home run and Martin a double. Bocock, Geog and Johnston all singled.

Bocock went the distance on the mound, striking out 10 while allowing eight hits and two walks.
