A familiar face returned to Holmes County recently, and the county should be healthier for it.

Zedrick Clark, the former owner of Nature’s Food Market, has returned to Berlin, where his new store Nature’s Blessings is now in operation beside The Ginger House near the square.

Several years ago Clark sold his business to Troyer’s Country Market and moved to Columbus. There he connected with a group from Epicenter Event Space and delved into the training program, Next Level Trainings, a workshop-based core curriculum program that teaches people how to lead while understanding how to set and reach goals while developing a positive mental approach to life.

That connection allowed Clark to dive headfirst into his real passion, educating people on how to be healthier and happier in life, and that in turn led him back to Holmes County.

“For me the biggest thing is that I want to see people able to get the highest quality of information, education and the products that go along with a healthier lifestyle,” Clark said. “The other thing I want to do is to have fun with this. Life is too short to be burdened with not feeling well. It is hard to be joyful when you’re not feeling well. My vision is to help people function at their peak level. Hopefully people will discover new things they didn’t know about when they come in.”

For Clark, coming back home to Berlin was something he had wanted to do for some time, and he said the opportunity and timing was perfect to make the transition back.

“I wanted my kids to see what it takes to build a business from the ground up, and they have been involved with this from the very beginning,” Clark said. “The other part of this is that I love to teach and train other people. I believe the highest level of leadership is creating other leaders, which is what I want to do through the store. I have seen quite an impact from Nature’s when it was here.”

However, while living in Columbus, he never really lost his passion for the region, and when the opportunity came to return to Berlin and refocus his attention on starting Nature’s Blessings, a store designed to create a better mind, body and spirit for people, he jumped at it.

Clark officially opened the doors to Nature’s Blessings on Wednesday, Sept. 19. While many people may remember Nature’s as a store that boasted all kinds of healthy food items, Clark has gone away from that avenue and gone to more supplements and herbs, teas and wellness equipment.

Currently he has two larger pieces of equipment set up for people to try, those being the FIR infrared sauna designed to relax and increase blood flow and an inversion table that is designed to aid in alleviating spine pressure and stretching out the spine by turning people upside down. He also has a number of massage therapy tools designed to help people relax, breaking up congestion and healing all parts of the body from head to toe.

Clark said he will introduce new items over time as well as filtering in other lines, like a large array of natural soaps. He also has a vast number of books on all types of healthy lifestyle options.

He said while he promotes healthy food, he believes healthy eating is a common-sense issue that is simple for people to make. However, he sees more science behind the supplements people need to learn about.

“I want to educate and eliminate some of the guess work in creating a healthier lifestyle,” Clark said. “There is always going to be something new and different in here for people to learn about and better understand the value in things like supplements. I want to continually introduce new items over time to keep things fresh. We all make choices in life. I want people to realize that life is a blessing and that the choices we make for our health can have a huge impact on how much we enjoy life. I think shifting people’s perspective to a more positive mind-set is an important part of what I want to accomplish.”

Clark also said he has made a commitment to working with the highest quality products and organizations in the market of health and wellness, and also he is seeking connections with organizations that are about giving back to people. He said the company Vitamin Angels is working toward the goal of ending infant blindness by providing beta carotene to people who need it.

“I am excited about working with the best organizations, and there are a lot of great companies out there that I am excited to connect with because they are committed to making people feel better about their own mind, body and spirit,” Clark said.
