YMCA gymnasts competed in Wooster

Tuscarawas County YMCA gymnasts competed in Wooster recently at the Wayne County YMCA. The NEO League meet hosted 116 athletes from North Canton, Riverfront, Tuscarawas County and Wayne County. All-around high scorers from Tuscarawas were Ellie Horger with 36.15 points out of a possible 40 points, Kendall Geers with 35.3 points and Arli Waller with 35.1 points.

First-places winners were Mia McPeek on bars, floor and all around; Lily Denney on bars and all around; Ellie Horger on beam and all around; Kendall Geers on vault; Jordynn Roden on vault; Alaysia Garner on floor; Elizabeth Brantley on beam; and Alyse Mello on beam.

Local gymnasts scoring 9.0 or higher on individual events were Ellie Horger with 9.35 on beam and 9.15 on floor, Kendall Geers with 9.0 on beam and 9.2 on floor, Arli Waller with 9.35 on beam, Penelope Endlich with 9.15 on floor, Mia McPeek with 9.1 on floor, Elizabeth Brantley with 9.1 on beam, Landry Little with 9.05 on floor, Jaycie Baker with 9.05 on floor, Alyse Mello with 9.05 on beam, and Jordynn Roden with 9.05 on vault.

Tuscarawas team members earning individual awards for being one of the top six scorers on each event were as follows:

Level 7

—Mia McPeek: first in bars, floor and all around; third on beam; and fourth on vault.

—Landry Little: second on floor and all around, third on vault and bars, and fourth on beam.

Level 6

—Lily Denney: first on bars and all around, second on beam, fourth on vault, and fifth on floor.

—Jaycie Baker: second on bars, floor and all around; third on vault; and fourth on beam.

—Layla Porter: fourth on bars and floor and fifth on vault.

—Vivian Denney: fourth on beam.

—Kendall Geers: first on vault; second on beam, floor and all around; and sixth on bars.

—Lily Endlich: third on vault and bars, fourth all around, and fifth on beam and floor.

—Lucy Miller: fourth on vault, fifth on floor and sixth on beam.

—Penelope Endlich: third on floor, fourth on vault and sixth on beam.

—Rebekah Klaserner: third on floor, fourth on bars, and sixth on vault and all around.
